Aston Villa are picking up the pace where it mattered the most. They beat Lille 2-1 in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final round before pulling off something more remarkable. They thrashed the in-form Arsenal side 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Villans are set to face Lille in the reverse fixture this midweek in an away setup. Their recent slaughter of a dominant side will surely give them a lot of confidence. It will be interesting to see how the second leg unfolds on Thursday night.
Defence
Emi Martinez remains the prime goalkeeper for Aston Villa. He has been superb this season for the club and will look to continue making an impact. No change in the right-back spot as Ezri Konza gets retained for the role.
Never fix something which is not broken. Hence, the duo of Diego Carlos and Pau Torres should remain intact as they have done well in recent games. Lucas Digne will continue to be deployed at the right full-back position.

Midfield
Multiple changes in the midfield unit are expected to take place. Youri Tielemans and Douglas Luiz are to be assigned the role of controlling the tempo of the game.
While Morgan Rogers plays on the left flank, Leon Bailey operates on the right wing. John McGinn will play high on the pitch as usual and try to create threats in the final third.
Attack
Ollie Watkins remains the undisputed striker in the lineup. He has scored four goals in his last four appearances in the Europa League. He would like to continue the form and find the back of the net once again.
Boubacar Kamara, Emi Buendia, Tyrone Mings and Jacob Ramsey are the confirmed absentees for the Villan for this clash.
