The Gunners announced their latest ticket sales figure just a short time ago. Demand for the fixture could exceed the extraordinary levels of interest recorded for the club’s season opener against Liverpool at the start of this month. That fixture saw a new Barclays Women’s Super League record attendance of 54,115 set.
Chelsea are set to provide the opposition at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday 10 December 2023. The fixture is currently scheduled to kick-off at 2pm, although the time could change if selected for live broadcast. After dropping points in the early weeks of the campaign, Arsenal may need to defeat Chelsea to put pressure on the current Barclays Women’s Super League champions in the title race.
The two sides also played out last season’s fixture at the Emirates Stadium. On that occasion, Kim Little gave Arsenal the lead from the penalty spot but The Gunners were denied the three points at the death with Sam Kerr netting a very late equaliser for Chelsea in a 1-1 draw. That fixture attracted an attendance of 46,811, a tally which will surely be beaten by this season’s meeting in North London.
