The Lionesses announced the news via a ticket update on their official X account this morning.
Two of the strongest nations in the European game meet at Wembley Stadium on Friday 1 December 2023. Both sides need a result to boost their hopes of topping the group and reaching the UEFA Women’s Nations League semi-finals.
The Netherlands have been the most impressive side in the group so far. The Orange Lionesses have taken nine points from an available 12. England have endured a more bumpy ride in the competition. While Sarina Wiegman’s side have beaten Scotland and Belgium at home, they have struggled on their travels, losing in both The Netherlands and Belgium. Anything other than a victory at Wembley is likely to leave England facing elimination.
England travelled to Utrecht to face The Netherlands in the reverse fixture back in September. On that occasion, Lieke Martens fired the Dutch into a first half lead before Alessia Russo levelled matters for England midway through the second half. The contest looked set to end level until Renate Jansen struck a last minute winner for the hosts. England will now be hoping to get revenge back on home soil in North West London.
England’s upcoming UEFA Women’s Nations League fixture against The Netherlands is scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm on Friday 1 December 2023. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
