The Blues are set to face The Gunners in a mouth-watering clash at Stamford Bridge on Friday evening.
Tickets for the fixture have been selling well and Chelsea have this morning provided an update which has confirmed that 30,000 fans have now secured their places.
The fixture holds real significance in the Barclays Women’s Super League’s title race. Chelsea currently top the table having collected 37 points from their 15 league games while Arsenal are just three points behind in third. Given The Gunners’ inferior goal difference, a win on Friday night won’t take them to the league summit, however, it would heap some heavy pressure on reigning champions Chelsea.
Chelsea will be out for revenge at The Bridge. The Blues went down 4-1 in the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium back in December. Beth Mead’s goal gave Arsenal an early lead before Johanna Rytting Kaneryd soon levelled matters. Goals from Amanda Ilestedt and Alessia Russo put Arsenal 3-1 up at half-time before the latter netted a penalty kick to round off the scoring in the second period.
Chelsea’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 7pm on Friday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
