Tiago Santos set to miss Lille’s opening fixture | OneFootball

According to a report from La Voix du Nord, Lille OSC will have to wait a bit longer before seeing Tiago Santos (23) back in action, after the fullback encountered a setback this week.

Santos has been on the sidelines for Lille after he suffered an ACL injury during training back in October. This saw him miss the majority of last season’s campaign as he recuperated. The plan was that he would be present in the squad for the opening fixture against Stade Brestois at the Stade Francis Le Blé. However, he has come down with a sore throat and missed training this week, but is expected to be back on Tuesday.

Lille’s squad has looked light ahead of the season, with the club still active in the transfer market as they attempt to restock a squad that has seen multiple departures. The club have been linked with moves for Benjamin Pavard, and also Diego Carlos. They are still likely in the hunt for a new striker, with Olivier Giroud (38) needing competition.
