Juventus defender Tiago Djalo has reportedly requested to leave the club, just eight months after he moved to Turin from Ligue 1 side Lille.
The 24-year-old centre-back joined the Old Lady back in January when Massimiliano Allegri was still in charge, at a cost of €3.6m over three instalments and a further €1.5m in bonuses. He was available at that price due to the fact that his contract with Lille was due to expire just a few months later.
However, Djalo has not got back to playing consistent first-team football since a major knee operation back in March of 2023, which kept him out for most of the 2023-24 season.
In fact, he has played just 16 minutes in a Juventus shirt, coming off the bench in a 2-0 victory over Monza in the final Serie A match of the 2023-24 season.
It is understood that Djalo is not part of Thiago Motta’s plans for the 2024-25 campaign, as he has not featured in any of Juve’s recent pre-season friendlies.
No specific clubs have been directly linked with a move Djalo, but Calciomercato.com suggest that he is more likely to move abroad then move to another Serie A club.
The Italian outlet also suggested that Juventus may look to offer him in a potential bid for Porto winger Galeno.
