It had looked like a done deal back in January but now a story in the Spanish press has revealed exactly why Adrien Rabiot’s move from Paris Saint-Germain to Barcelona fell through.
Having become an outcast at PSG thanks to his stalling on a new contract, all suggestions over the winter window were that the Blaugrana would sign Rabiot on a free this summer.
That though, never materialised, with Barça taking the rare step of releasing an official statement to say the move would not be happening.
And now it’s been revealed exactly why the deal fell through.
A well-sourced story in Mundo Deportivo has claimed that there were three reasons as to why the midfielder never made it to Camp Nou.
With Barcelona off the cards it seems that Rabiot could well be heading to the Premier League, with Manchester United and Arsenal thought to be interested.
