Il Corriere dello Sport reports that Sandro Tonali, Samuele Ricci and Davide Frattesi are expected to start in the middle of the park for Italy against Belgium on Thursday, while Niccolò Pisilli is seen as a backup for the Inter midfielder.
Italy are preparing for upcoming Nations League games against Belgium and Israel.
The first match is on Thursday, October 10, against Domenico Tedesco’s Red Devils at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, while the second against Israel will be played in Udine on Monday 14.
A report from Corriere dello Sport on Tuesday claims that Frattesi, Tonali, and Ricci, the Italy starters in last month’s win over France, will likely be confirmed against Belgium.
It is reported that during a training session on Monday, Spalletti used the debutant Pisilli as a backup for Frattesi, while Lorenzo Pellegrini, another Roma midfielder, will probably fight for a starting spot with Giacomo Raspadori, who remains the favourite to partner Mateo Retegui in the attack.
