We are just one game away from reaching the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign, at least as far as Barcelona are concerned.

The club’s management, however, has already started working for the season ahead. One of the management’s priorities is to return to the 1:1 rule, which will allow the club to spend as much as they earn.

To that end, a recent report from Mundo Deportivo has revealed three key economic levers Barcelona are counting on in their bid to return to the 1:1 rule this summer.

Several sponsorship deals on the table

Barcelona’s first lever is sponsorship agreements. As per the report, Barça have managed to conjure up several sponsorship agreements, just a month before the financial year in Spain comes to an end.

This is an opportune moment for Barcelona to close these sponsorship deals and add revenue to the club’s budget.

The report adds that Barça will make these sponsorship deals public in the coming weeks and the deals could go a long way in aiding the club’s balance sheets.

The new Nike deal

Barcelona’s most important economic lever will be the new deal with Nike. The club have been in talks with the American apparel giant for a long time now, over a new contract that would increase the current payout.

Earlier in the year, it was reported that Barça were on the verge of sealing an agreement. But there has been a rather bizarre delay since.

Nevertheless, Barcelona are confident of striking the new deal with Nike, which will help the club bring in significant revenue.

The Bridgeburg Project

Barcelona’s final economic lever is the Bridgeburg Project, which is essentially a plan to make Barça Studios go public in the US markets.

In order to go through with this operation, Barcelona must find a partner who can expedite the operation and make Barça Studios enter the Nasdaq.

Barcelona are actively looking for investors to unblock this project, which was relaunched in April. The club, for their part, are serious about listing Barça Studios, knowing it could be key in helping them aid the balance sheets.
