After five years at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Thorgan Hazard is ready to enjoy his new adventure at Borussia Dortmund.
Hazard signed a five-year deal with the club after finalising a €25.5m move last month and explained the reasons why he decided to move to Signal Iduna Park.
“It’s a big club, a great stage in my career. I thought it was time to take another step up,” said Hazard.
“I’ve been – little by little – moving up, developing well up till now. I thought it was the moment to take the big leap to a very big club.
“I also wanted to stay in Germany, because I like this league.
“I’ve already heard talk of the ‘Yellow Wall’ of Dortmund and I’ve already played games there.
“Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out well for me, with defeats every time, but now I’m on the other side.
“I’d been talking about it with Witsel for some time now. He didn’t really need to convince me: when a club like BVB comes in for you, you really want to go there.
“I’m looking forward to it. First, there’s the holidays to switch off a bit, and then I’ll go there.”
The 21-time Belgian international was spectacular in the Bundesliga last season, accumulating 10 goals and 11 assists in 33 games.
