Bayern Munich have announced that head coach Thomas Tuchel will leave the club when the season concludes.
The former Chelsea boss took over 11 months ago, replacing Julian Nagelsmann, and helped guide the Bavarian side to the Bundesliga title.
But they have fallen well off the pace set by unbeaten league leaders Bayer Leverkusen this year, have been eliminated from the DFB-Pokal and trail to Lazio following the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
As a result, the club have now confirmed that Tuchel will be replaced this summer, 12 months ahead of the scheduled end of his contract.
Sky Germany report that the top candidate internally to replace him is former midfielder and current Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso.
