Hakim Ziyech’s performance against Manchester Untied frustrated many Chelsea fans last night.

Browsing social media after the game there were plenty saying he’s “not good enough” or sharing similar sentiments.

That was in contrast to what Thomas Tuchel felt however. Asked by Chelsea TV about the Morrocan’s performance he said he was “very pleased,” and pointed out all the good things, while admitting it was just a shame he wasn’t able to create the vital chance or shot to win the match. You can see the Chelsea manager speaking in the interview here.

To be fair, the winger did work his socks off as he often does, and for 90 minutes he pressed and harried.

Unfortunately with Manchester United defending their box with their whole team after taking the lead, it was always going to be difficult for Hakim to find the gap to get a shot or a crucial pass away – although that final chance for Antonio Rudiger came after Ziyech cleverly released Christian Pulisic.
