Thomas Tuchel reveals Reece James has “muscular problem” | OneFootball

It’s often the way with longer term injuries that players pick up smaller injuries as they recover, and it seems that’s just what’s happened with Reece James.

The full back made a glorious return in the last couple of weeks, with two games as a sub and then a start (and a goal) against Burnley at the weekend.

But that sudden return to action has cost him, as Thomas Tuchel revealed in his press conference just now.

He said that James had a “muscular problem” in his leg, although he didn’t have much more than that to reveal. It doesn’t seem too serious, although Tuchel was a little downbeat, and it looks like it will certainly rule him out of tomorrow’s game, and likely Sunday’s too.

At least it sounds like Cesar Azpilicueta will be fit after his own minor issue.

As always with injuries, it’s two steps forward and one step back.
