Thomas Tuchel has had a whistle stop tour of football’s top managers in his year at Chelsea. Between the Premier League’s impressive array of sideline stars and his team’s run to lifting the Champions League last season, Tuchel has taken on pretty much every big name in the game and come out on top.

One gap in his collection until recently was Antonio Conte, but two games in the Carabao Cup this month and now a third match later today means they’re getting well acquainted already.

Tuchel’s interview ahead of the game on the official Chelsea website revealed everything you might want to know about what he thinks of his opposite number:

“It’s always clear it is an Antonio Conte team. They play always with a desire to win and always with a huge physical input and a relentless style, and he is like this on the touchline, coaching his teams like this.

“It is very hard to play against his teams and now we do it for a third time, but it does not affect so much my coaching. You always need to find a good mix between emotions and a cool head. This is on me like it is for the players.”

As you’d expect, it’s all respect, even between the two managers of rival teams. Considering they were derby games, the two cup matches we just faces Spurs in were relatively tame.

With these two manager on the sidelines however, we don’t expect that to continue forever.
