PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has insisted that Neymar will be in top form for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Manchester United after being benched for PSG’s 4-0 victory over Nîmes on Friday.
Of course, the Ligue 1 encounter came just three days after Neymar’s fantastic hat-trick against Peru in World Cup qualifying, which vaulted the Brazilian above Ronaldo to become his country’s second-highest scorer at the international level.
“Ney doesn’t have any issue. We talked together, like I did with Kylian,” the PSG boss said.
“We had an honest discussion and I decided to let him rest today. He will be with us tomorrow. He will train and get ready for the game against Manchester United.
“He will be on the pitch, for sure.”
Tuchel also praised the influence of Kylian Mbappé, who is up to an outrageous four goals and four assists after his sensational two-goal performance.
“It won’t be possible to do all the season what we did today. I talked with him [Mbappe] yesterday and we made this decision with responsibilities,” he said.
“He said he was feeling well and he really wanted to play. He is a player who can make the difference. That’s what he did today and it was great.”
In Neymar’s three appearances for PSG this season, he has bagged two goals and dished out an assist.
