Well, there are literally zero positives to take from Chelsea’s final pre-season game of the American tour this summer.
At a stretch there was one, and Thomas Tuchel managed to find it at the end of a fiery and frustrated post-match press conference after being thrashed 4-0 by Arsenal in the early hours of this morning.
The defeat was embarrassing for Chelsea, despite it being just a pre-season friendly. Arsenal had the right attitudes, they were not treating this like a friendly. But Chelsea, carried on from where they left off last season, with lacklustre and clueless performances across the whole pitch. Questions marks over the boss too, but he has a right to be frustrated with the lack of effort across the pitch.
However, let’s draw upon that one positive, and it was new signing Kalidou Koulibaly, who got his debut in a Chelsea shirt last night.
Despite only playing for 25 minutes, Tuchel says he was the best player on the pitch for Chelsea, as reported by Football London.
