There was a real moment of great positivity at Chelsea this week amongst the poor run of form we are going through on the pitch.

There was time to celebrate the greatness that we have at this club with the FIFA awards ceremony.

A Chelsea wave swept through the awards with Thomas Tuchel collecting the best men’s coach award, Emma Hayes collecting the best women’s coach award, Edouard Mendy collecting the best goalkeeper award, and both N’Golo Kante and Jorginho being named in the best world Xl.

These were all fully deserved plaudits for a club that collectively have had a really good year.

Tuchel has been praising one of his counterparts in particular after gaining her award, and there is a real mutual respect and admiration between Emma Hayes and Tuchel.

It’s great to see and Chelsea are lucky to have both of them in charge of their senior teams.

“She is already a legend here, and I’m trying hard to keep up and to stay as long as she does, and to catch as many titles, because no matter what she does, in the end, she turns out to be on top of whichever competition; she has what it takes,” Tuchel said of Hayes as reported by the Chelsea website.

“We met very early on in the building and since then it’s always nice to meet her, it’s always nice to chat. It’s not so easy because of the different bubbles in which we are in, so we can’t have as many meetings as maybe we would like to have, to exchange ideas. Her work is extraordinary, and she’s a brilliant coach, and this is well-deserved.

“We know how hard they work, how good they are, and it’s one club, so we are super happy for them.”
