Thomas Tuchel hands out starts to squad players – but no room for youth
the Chelsea News
The team news is out for today’s final game of the season for Chelsea, and there is some frustration about the squad Thomas Tuchel picked.
There had been some hope he would pick some young players on Thursday night, but given the team needed a point to secure third place, some caution in selection was understandable.
But this game is a true dead rubber, and not only are there no kids on the pitch, there are none on the bench either.
Thomas Tuchel has decided to give Kenedy and Saul some minutes to show his appreciation for their contribution this season, as well as letting Antonio Rudiger gave another chance to say goodbye to the fans.
Even Ben Chilwell gets a place on the bench after 6 months of rehab.
We’ve lost a lot of top young players in recent years because they don’t see that they have a pathway to the first team. That’s not going to get any better with selections like this.
