Thomas Tuchel confirms new injury blow for Bayern winger

Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Serge Gnabry is set to be out for the next two months after the winger suffered a thigh injury.

Speaking to the press ahead of his side’s trip to Old Trafford tomorrow night to face Manchester United, the Bayern head coach said: “I fear that Serge will be out for at least eight weeks. He was in good shape again in training and immediately got injured again, which is a real pity.”

The German international had been out until Saturday with a broken arm he sustained in September, but lasted less than five minutes after coming on as a substitute in Bayern’s shock 5-1 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Gnabry has made just five league appearances this season and will now not play until well into the new year in what is a blow to both Bayern and Germany’s EURO 2024 preparation.
