Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that he will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season after the club were unable to convince him to stay.

It was initially announced back in February that Tuchel would be leaving Bayern at the end of the season, but the club's struggles to line up a successor so far combined with the team's upturn in form towards the end of the season led to talks over a potential U-turn.

However, speaking on Friday ahead of Bayern's final match of the season against Hoffenheim, Tuchel confirmed that he has not reached an agreement with the club and will leave as planned.

“This is my last press conference as FC Bayern manager," he told reporters.

“There were talks, but we didn't reach an agreement… so the decision of February still stands."

Tuchel will therefore leave having taken charge of 61 Bayern matches, with his sole trophy in his time at the club being last year's Bundesliga title.

He has recently been linked with a move to Manchester United should the Premier League outfit decide to part with Erik ten Hag this summer.
