Phew!

It’s been touch and go over Thomas Tuchel’s status for tomorrow’s Club World Cup final, with doubts over his presence as recently as this morning when his assistants took the pre match press conference and weren’t able to to confirm that he would be present for tomorrow’s game.

But just now news has emerged that Tuchel is not only already in Abu Dhabi, he’s on the way to the team hotel now.

That gives him tonight and tomorrow morning to work with the players, and his presence on the touchline will be a huge boost. The team looked off the pace in their two games without him urging them on from the sidelines, but now they will have no excuses.

He was able to have tactical input on those games remotely, but it’s not the same, and we expect him to be relishing being back in full contact with the squad.
