Thomas Partey was taken off against Crystal Palace after he pulled up with an injury and the latest update is not good.

On what was a forgettable night for Arsenal, who had already lost Kieran Tierney to an injury that could end his season, Thomas Partey hobbling off was one of the last things Arsenal fans wanted to see.

Speaking after the game, Arteta was asked how bad the injury seemed.

“I don’t know,” Arteta replied, “but he felt something in the same area that he got injured previously, so it’s a big concern.”

Since signing for Arsenal in 2020, Partey has missed 21 games through injury.

He missed four with an ankle injury, three with a hamstring problem, 10 with a hip injury, and four with a ‘muscle’ problem.

About the game itself, Arteta said, “Today there were too many things that went wrong at the same time.

“There are a few examples and Emile had a clear chance before that as well which would have made it 2-1, Bukayo had another one and then Eddie hit the post, but overall the performance didn’t deserve the win or to get something out of the game, we have to be honest with ourselves.”
