Thomas Partey breaks silence on Atlético exit rumours

Thomas Partey has reaffirmed his desire to stay at Atlético Madrid next season despite reports linking him with a move.

In January, AS reported that Partey had requested a meeting with Diego Simeone to discuss his lack of playing time, and that he would push for a summer departure.

However, the 25-year-old has since rejected those claims and committed his future to the club.

“I’ve grown up with Atléti and I am sure I will stay here,” he told Cadena COPE.

“I don’t know of another place that will understand how I play like they do here.”

Manchester United and Arsenal were said to be interested in signing the midfielder, who is under contract until 2023.
