Manager Vincent Kompany continues his perfect start to the 2024/25 Bundesliga season in what goes down as a night to remember for Thomas Müller.

It was a match of few opportunities as these two sides struggled to register shots on target. An unlucky handball call against Max Rosenfelder allowed Bayern to break the deadlock from the penalty spot.

Harry Kane stepped up following VAR’s decision and made no mistake to record his first goal of the season. The England international has now scored against all 17 Bundesliga clubs he’s faced to date.

After the break, things became the Müller show on an occasion when the Bayern star cemented his legendary status.

The veteran, who has been at the club for 24 years, entered the pitch as a substitute for Michael Olise. In doing so, he registered his 710th competitive appearance for the club, becoming the all-time record holder (previously Sepp Maier, 1979).

Müller then thanked the Bayern faithful for their love by securing the win with the game’s second goal. The 34-year-old was open in the box, controlled a cross down, and used his quick feet to volley the ball off the ground into the net.

It goes down as his 150th Bundesliga goal, and Bayern subsequently sit tied for first in the table with two wins from two, while Freiburg are 10th.
