Thomas Müller has insisted nothing is better than Bayern Munich sitting top of the Bundesliga going into the international break.
The Bavarians overcame third-placed Freiburg 2-1 at the Allianz Arena on Saturday courtesy of goals from Leon Goretzka and Robert Lewandowksi.
That victory means Julian Nagelsmann’s side have a four point gap as the Bundesliga halts for two weeks with the internationals taking over.
Müller, who assisted Goretzka’s strike, was in buoyant mood post-match as Bayern became the first team to beat Freiburg this season.
Speaking to the official club website after the match, the 32-year-old said: “We knew it was going to be an important game.
“We wanted to go into the break with a win and keep the pressure on the sides behind us.
“The place was full, the game was intense. The spectators saw a great and exciting game.
“When you win, it’s always great. We can look forward to a nice weekend now.
“When we come back from the international break, we know we’ll be top of the pile – there’s nothing better than that.”
Bayern travel to Augsburg when the league reconvenes on November 19.
