Thomas Frank watched on as Newcastle United took a massive step towards a potential place in the Champions League next season.
United with a tough game against a talented and confident Brentford side.
The Bees having the very best away form of all Premier League teams in the last thee months.
Thomas Frank and his side arriving at St James’ Park having won their last five Premier League matches.
Alexander Isak giving United the lead, only for a Bryan Mbeumo penalty to equalise.
That simply set it up for an outrageous Sandro Tonali winner from what looked an all but impossible angle.
“One in a million” was how Thomas Frank described the winning goal.
The Brentford boss claiming that Tonali had admitted he was trying to cross the ball…
Thomas Frank reflecting on Newcastle 2 Brentford 1:
“I am very happy with the performance overall.
“It was a performance that easily could have given us three points again.
“They embraced the atmosphere, they enjoyed playing in it. We were brave, we were aggressive.
“We had Ethan Pinnock’s header which hit the inside of the post, then Sandro Tonali scores from a cross which is one in a million.
“I even asked him after and he said it was a cross!
“In these tight games, you need some margins to go your way.”
