Paul Pogba is one of the world’s most famous footballers, but it turns out his face isn’t instantly recognisable to everybody on the planet.
On Monday, Australian Twitch streamer Nate Patrick went viral on Twitter with a charming and hilarious tale about about a bunch of noisy Uno players his non-football loving parents bumped into on a train.
Or so they thought.
“They were on a train, and a group of people were behind them, playing Uno,” wrote Patrick.
“Mum and Dad turned around a few times, as apparently they were making a little bit of noise.
“Yes my parents get disturbed by an exciting card game, now you can see I don’t think they’d cope with Wembley.
“These lads knew they were making a bit of noise, so they come up to Mum and Dad, and apologise, and ask if they’d like a photo.
“Dad is like, oh, that’s nice, and gives one of the gentleman his phone for this stranger to take a photo of Mum and Dad on this train from Manchester.
“The stranger looks weirdly at my Dad, and says (with a French accent) ‘No, no no, I am asking if you would like a photo with me, sir?’
“My Dad looks at my Mum like who on earth does this guy think he is?
“But also my Dad is mega-polite, and obliges to be in the photo.
“Having read through all of these messages, my Dad sends through the photo, and asks ‘Nathan, you wouldn’t happen to know who this is?'”
Yep, it was none other than Pogba, Nemanja Matić and the rest of the Manchester United squad, who must have travelled down to London early ahead of Friday night’s FA Cup clash with Arsenal.
In fact, the French midfielder had previously posted a couple of photos of their intense game of Uno to his Instagram story.
And to prove the validity of his story to those who doubted him on Twitter, Patrick then shared a few screenshots of the messages between him and his unsuspecting parents.
So next time your enjoyment of quiet train carriage is ruined by what you think are boisterous teenagers, remember, it could just be Paul Pogba sitting behind you.
