Newcastle United will shortly name their official 25 man Premier League squad.
All Premier League clubs needing to do this after the closing of the summer 2025 transfer window, ahead of the fourth round of Premier League games after this September international break.
Once the official 25 Premier League squad is named, these are the only players other than under 21 players, that can play in league matches until changes can be made in January.
Under 21 players for the 2025/26 campaign are those born on or after 1 January 2004.
Which in Newcastle’s case, the main news is that both Lewis Hall and Lewis Miley are over and above the senior official 25 man Premier League squad for NUFC. Also in the U 21 category are the likes of Alex Murphy and Seung-soo Park.
It would appear that this is set to be the official 25 man Premier League squad that Eddie Howe will be naming. We know this because currently, these are the only 25 Newcastle United players to choose from, over and above those classed as Under 21s.
Goalkeepers
Mark Gillespie, Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale, John Ruddy
Defenders
Harrison Ashby, Sven Botman, Dan Burn, Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, Tino Livramento, Fabian Schar, Malick Thiaw, Kieran Trippier
Midfielders
Harvey Barnes, Anthony Elanga, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Jacob Murphy, Jacob Ramsey, Sandro Tonali, Joe Willock
Strikers
Will Osula, Yoane Wissa, Nick Woltemade
So, with the transfer window finally closing, is this Newcastle United 25 man senior Premier League squad (plus Under 21s) up to the job?
