Passing down your love of football to the next generation is surely the very best thing about being a parent.

And that was in evidence on Tuesday as Leeds fan, Shaun Meddings, revealed a family tradition on X.

With the Yorkshire side's evening game against Watford due to finish late into the night, Mr Meddings wrote down the final result for his daughter to find in the morning.

Much like his own dad did when he was a lad.

This really is what it's all about.

When I was a kid my Dad would write down the Leeds result on a piece of paper and leave in my room to wake up to if the game finished after my bed time. The day has come to start the tradition with my daughter 🙌🏻 #Leeds @LUFC
