Listed below are the updated general Premier League odds now available from the various bookies to finish top six this 2023/24 season:

4/6 Man U

2/1 Newcastle United

5/1 Chelsea

66/1 Brighton

500/1 West Ham

So what we are basically talking about, is three clubs fighting for the last remaining spot in the top six – Man U, Newcastle United and Chelsea.

These are all the remaining fixtures for the three clubs:

Saturday 27 April – Newcastle v Sheff Utd, Man U v Burnley, Aston Villa v Chelsea

Thursday 2 May – Chelsea v Tottenham

Saturday 4 May – Burnley v Newcastle

Sunday 5 May – Chelsea v West Ham

Monday 6 May – Crystal Palace v Man U

Saturday 11 May – Newcastle v Brighton, Forest v Chelsea

Sunday 12 May – Man U v Arsenal

Wednesday 15 May – Man U v Newcastle, Brighton v Chelsea

Sunday 19 May – Brentford v Newcastle, Brighton v Man U, Chelsea v Bournemouth

It is a simple equation, if Newcastle United win their last five matches, they are guaranteed sixth place, as they have such a superior goal difference already, plus winning all five games would ensure the NUFC GD got even better.

Personally, I think if Eddie Howe’s team draw against Man U and win the other four, then that would also ensure sixth place, as I can’t see Chelsea picking up more than 13 points.

Whilst if Newcastle United could beat Man U and win at least three of the other four, then that would also I believe give us sixth. As Chelsea aren’t picking up more than 12 points.

I think certainly now, of the three clubs, Newcastle have for sure the easiest run-in on paper. Man U away at Palace and Brighton, plus home to Arsenal. Whilst Chelsea have it even worse I think.
