Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez looks increasingly likely to leave the club this summer - and a Spanish outlet claims to know the price at which the Reds would be tempted to part ways with the forward.

The Uruguayan has found himself at the centre of a storm during the past week after his social media activity and a trip to Barcelona added fuel to the fire of a potential move away from Anfield.

After heading straight down the tunnel following Liverpool's 4-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday, Nunez made waves by wiping his Instagram account clean of any Liverpool-related content amid criticism of his recent performances.

Many, including Premier League winner Chris Sutton, interpreted this as a hint towards an impending departure from the Merseyside club.

Jorge Mendes offered Darwin Nunez to Barcelona

Speculation then intensified when news broke that the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, reportedly offered Nunez to Barcelona.

Spain-based publication Sport reported that the Catalan giants would only move for Nunez if star striker Robert Lewandowski were to leave the club this summer.

It seems there's a good chance of that happening, though. Comments from Xavi last week seemed to indicate that the door was open for the Pole to move on. Nunez could very well move through it as signs that he's unsettled at Anfield continue to surface.

Liverpool want 'at least €85m' for Nunez

Speaking on the podcast Más que Pelotas, in quotes relayed by Sport, journalist Nicolás Saavedra seemingly confirmed the news that Mendes was actively seeking a move for his client.

Saavedra said: "Mendes wants him to leave Liverpool. He holds Nunez in high regard and has other aspirations for him." These aspirations are believed to include a return to Spain.

However, any deal for Nunez won't come cheap.

According to Saavedra, Liverpool value the Uruguayan forward highly. He said: "Darwin Nunez's value has gone up a lot these last few years

"Liverpool won't sell him for anything less than 85 million euros."

However, this figure, which equates to around £73 million, is only marginally higher than the fee the Reds paid Benfica for his signature two summers ago.

Liverpool reportedly paid the Portuguese said £64 million, with add-ons potentially taking the overall fee to £85 million at a later date.

That said, there are no indications that any of these add-ons have been activated yet.

Nonetheless, such a fee could still pose a challenge for Barcelona, as they must adhere to the 1:1 transfer rule and comply with financial fair play in order to register Nunez.
