Things must change as Rangers choke on 56 amid Celtic triumph | OneFootball

Well that’s it official, as good as. Celtic win the league and Rangers are consigned to second-place again, having absolutely choked a 2-point lead that we earned and 56 in our own hands.

It’s hard to sum up the emotions of a must-win game at Ibrox and ending up 0-2 down after 30 minutes, compared with Celtic travelling to Rugby Park needing just a draw and smashing the hosts 0-4 (at the time of writing).

It shows, on so many levels, that despite being poor, Celtic found a way to win the league, and Rangers, being poor, crumbled in the business end of the season.

To quote Captain Courageous, ‘it’s disappointing’, and shows how Rangers really don’t have a single champion among our squad at the moment, aside the manager.

And to that end, Clement has made many, MANY errors, and is as big a part of the choke as the players he shoehorned in were – let’s not remotely let Clement off the hook, and indeed Ibrox Noise is given a lot of pelters by Rangers fans convinced we’re anti-the manager and won’t miss a chance to dig at him.

They’re absolutely right.

We hold our Rangers managers to the standards set by Walter Smith, and even the likes of Eck and Advocaat – we will never apologise for expecting winners, and Clement has fallen well short of that this season, unless you count winning the League Cup v a bottom-feeding Aberdeen.

But the players are massive parts of this choke – they are the guys on the pitch, wasting chances, letting Dundee have a 0-2 head start, and letting the 2 point lead slip.

And that’s ultimate frustration – Clement and the players did the hard work, they overturned Brenda’s 7-point lead, only to choke on it.

The record recently is 4 losses, 3 draws and 6 wins in the last 13 matches. Less than 50%.

Miles short of Rangers Standard and it’s no wonder the squad is being heavily ditched this summer.

We do believe we’re seeing the biggest turnover since 2015, and it’s not before time.

The players are not Rangers Standard in the majority, and that’s why they’re second best in the league.

Despite Celtic also being rotten, Rangers are worse.

That simply stinks.
