According to Le Parisien, Thierry Henry hopes to select Kylian Mbappé (25), Antoine Griezmann (32) and Olivier Giroud (37) as part of his squad to represent France in their home Olympic Games. The 2024 games are set to take place in Paris and all eyes will be on Les Bleus as they attempt to win the gold medal.

As part of the Olympics squad, Thierry Henry will be forced to pick mainly U23 players due to the rules in the Football section of the games. However, each manager of the nations who participate is allowed to select three players over the age of 23 to participate in their squad.

In the case of Henry, he hopes to select three senior internationals to bolster his attacking exploits ahead of the games. With Giroud, Griezmann and Mbappé, the former Monaco manager hopes to add a combined 331 international caps worth of experience to his Olympics squad. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if the players’ respective clubs will allow them to participate after a busy summer with EURO 2024 also taking place in Germany.

Mbappé ‘expected’ to participate

The France captain, Kylian Mbappé, is expected to participate in the Olympics squad for Les Bleus, according to The Athletic. However, with a transfer saga still ongoing, it is unknown if there has been an agreement with Real Madrid that officially allows him to represent his country at the Paris 2024 games.
