Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois wants to see his future resolved before the World Cup, with the Blues shot-stopper entering the final year of his contract.
The Belgium international’s current deal in west London will expire in June 2019 and the Stamford Bridge outfit are thought to be willing to pay €220,000 per week to keep him.
Courtois however, has emerged as a potential target for both Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid, with the 25-year-old previously stating that he would love to return to Spain as his girlfriend and children still live in the Spanish capital.
As such, the former Genk graduate has claimed he would like to go into this summer’s tournament with “a clear idea” of where he’ll be next season.
“If I go to the World Cup with a clear idea, sign or wait another year, then I have a clear head at the tournament,” he told Sporza. “I am still proud to play at Chelsea and I want to achieve success.
“I have one year [left on my] contract and feel good at Chelsea, at the end of the season we will sit down together and set out a vision. I know that I will be at Chelsea next year as well.”
