Thibaut Courtois had admitted that he will not play at Euro 2024 with Belgium due to injury.

The 31-year-old has not played a minute of action in 2023/24 after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear during training in August.

No timescale had been put on the goalkeeper’s return, but it appears that he has ruled himself out of featuring in this summer’s tournament with his national team.

In an interview with Sportza, Courtois said: “Due to the injury, there will be no Euros for me.

“I have to recover the full 100% first and then you better not stick a date on it.

“If I’m lucky, I can play another match in May. But then you can never be 100% ready for a big tournament.”

Courtois has earned over 100 caps for Belgium, helping them earn a third-place finish at the 2018 World Cup.
