Thiago Silva’s decline evident in graph which shows the areas he’s failing in | OneFootball

Thiago Silva is not having the best season, and as the weeks pass he’s getting more and more blame for Chelsea’s problems.

A lot of fans think his lack of pace is keeping the team deep and preventing them from pressing higher. It’s also seemingly keeping Levi Colwill and left back, and Ben Chilwell out of the team. A chart from Alex Goldberg on Twitter perfectly illustrated the decline, at least in terms of stats.

The eyes say the same thing: he’s really struggling out there, even compared to last season, where he was playing in an similarly dysfunctional team. The effects go beyond his own game too – the team is playing differently to accommodate him, meaning some of the major issues with his presence aren’t even evident from the graph above.
