Thiago Motta has been appointed the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain’s U-19 side, according to ESPN.
Motta brought his playing career to a close at the end of last season after making 231 appearances for PSG.
And the 35-year-old – who also played for Atlético Madrid, Genoa, Inter and Barcelona – will begin his new job when he takes his first training session at 16:00 CET on Wednesday 18 July.
As well as coaching the U-19s, the former Brazil and Italy international will oversee the Ligue 1 giants’ UEFA Youth League campaign. PSG’s best showing in that competition to date is a runners-up spot in 2015/16.
Motta’s coaching staff will consist of former Le Mans player Régis Beunardeau, conditioning coach Simon Colinet and goalkeeper coach Benjamin Leborgne.
