Thiago Mendes could leave Lyon in the summer

As reported by Ouest France, via the Brazilian media, Lyon midfielder Thiago Mendes could be in line for a summer exit from Parc OL.

Brazilian Serie A club Flamengo have reportedly entered into negotiations with OL over the 29-year-old whose contract runs to 2023. Their interest is nothing new – Flamengo directors flew to France to meet the player last year.

Last season, the side coached by Paulo Sousa, formerly of Bordeaux, finished second behind Atletico Mineiro in Brazil. Since joining from Lille in 2019, meanwhile, Mendes has played 95 times in all competitions for Lyon, scoring once and providing five assists, as per Flashscore.com.
