Liverpool locked horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium as they looked to pick up a victory on the road. The Reds made a dominant start to the game but struggled to find the cutting edge in the final third. Both sides canceled each other out and went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

The Merseyside outfit threw everything but the kitchen sink in the second 45 minutes but failed to be clinical in the final third. However, there was a twist in the tail end of the game as Divock Origi came off the bench to score a priceless goal in the fourth minute of injury-time. Jurgen Klopp’s men ended up grinding out a 1-0 victory away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the clash against Wolves.

GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10

The Brazilian keeper didn’t do much wrong in the game and secured an easy clean sheet during the 90 minutes.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7/10

The English right-back delivered some dangerous crosses into the Wolves penalty box and kept things solid at the back when needed.

CB: Joel Matip – 7.5/10

Matip bossed the game from the back and made a few excellent runs towards the Wolves penalty box.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 7/10

The Dutch centre-back had a couple of nervy moments while trying to deal with Adama Traore’s pace. However, he deserves a lot of credit for playing an excellent diagonal cross to pick up Salah’s run in the lead-up to Origi’s injury-time match-winner.

LB: Andrew Robertson – 7/10

The Scotland international was always looking to get forward and link up with Mane down the left flank. He performed his defensive duties quite well throughout the game.

CM: Jordan Henderson – 6.5/10

The English midfield ace was full of energy and running in the opposition half. However, he struggled to pick out a killer pass in the final third.

CM: Fabinho – 7.5/10

Fabinho fought for every loose possession at the centre of the park. He stepped up and was more adventurous in the second half.

CM: Thiago Alcantara – 8/10

The Spaniard got a couple of decent chances to score but was denied by some brilliant Wolves defending. He controlled the game very well while playing the ‘quarterback’ role in the second half.

RW: Mohamed Salah – 7/10

Salah found it difficult to beat Rayan Aït-Nouri out on the wide areas. However, he came alive in injury-time and picked up a great assist for setting up Origi’s goal.

ST: Diogo Jota – 5/10

The Portuguese talent wasted plenty of good opportunities to score against his old club.

LW: Sadio Mane – 7/10

Mane was always willing to get to the byline and caused a lot of problems for the Wolves backline. However, he was not clinical in front of goal.

ST: Divock Origi – 8/10

The Belgian held the ball up quite well and once again came to Liverpool’s rescue by finding the back of the net which gave Liverpool all three points on the road.

CAM: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6/10

He offered very little after coming off the bench.

CM: James Milner – N/A

The veteran midfielder hardly had any time to influence the game.
