Thiago Alcantara injury 'doesn't look good' for Champions League final
90min
Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Thiago Alcantara's injury 'doesn't look good' just six days out from the UEFA Champions League final.
The mercurial midfielder limped off at half-time in Liverpool's final game of the Premier League season - a 3-1 win over Wolves - with a suspected muscle injury, having created the Reds' equalising goal earlier in the half.
Thiago has been key to Liverpool's wonderful late season form - form which has seen them win two domestic trophies, finish second in the league, and reach the Champions League final.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the win over Wolves however, Klopp didn't sound optimistic about Thiago's involvement in Saturday's game vs. Real Madrid in Paris.
"I don't know, but it doesn't look good in the moment because he was obviously limping with just six days left until the final," Klopp admitted.
"I have no idea if [six days recovery time] will be enough. We will see if he is out, if he did [injured] his muscle then he will be out. But from the rest [of the team] I didn't hear anything so they all should be alright."
Ultimately, Liverpool came up short in their bid to win an unprecedented quadruple as Manchester City won a fourth Premier League title in five seasons. Pep Guardiola's side came from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in a dramatic game at the Etihad - three goals in five minutes, including two for substitute Ilkay Gundogan, enough to turn the tide.
