Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner has acknowledged the fact that this opponents Arsenal are absolutely flying under new boss Jonas Eidevall.

Only European champions FC Barcelona and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have been able to stop The Gunners so far and they will be difficult opponents for Manchester United at the Leigh Sports Village this afternoon.

When speaking in his pre-match press conference, Skinner acknowledged the great form that opponents Arsenal currently find themselves in.

“They’re flying aren’t they, of course it is a tough, tough game,” Skinner said. “Chelsea was a tough game, Manchester City’s a tough game and when we play Everton they are going to change and adapt. We have spoken before about the depth and the quality in this league now. For sure, it is going to be a really difficult game.

“Although, Arsenal will be a very tough challenge, probably the toughest with Chelsea for sure, we will be right at it and we have to be in order to get a result.”

Arsenal are at their most dangerous in the final 10 minutes of matches and Skinner went on to say that their quality late in games is down to The Gunners’ squad depth.

“If the front three don’t do it, they bring the next three on,” Skinner said. They have a lot of depth, a lot of quality players and the manager seems to be getting a lot out of them as well.

“It’s going to be a tough, tough challenge but we know that if we are going to get anything out of this game, we have to defend honestly, defend with our brains and our bodies and we have to be prepared to take it into the moments where it is uncomfortable.”

The Barclays FA Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester United and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 12.15pm. Tickets for the match can be purchased by clicking here.
