Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are of course set to play their part in yet another Champions League final this weekend.

Should Real ultimately emerge on the right side of the result, a scenario deemed as likely by the vast majority, they will in turn, be crowned Europe’s very best for 2023/24.

Even in the case of as much, however, one member of the capital giants’ squad is of the opinion that the standout side in football are currently plying their trade in the Premier League.

Speaking in an interview with Revista GQ on Thursday, Rodrygo was drawn on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

The Sky Blues of course proved themselves the biggest challenge in Real Madrid’s route to the Champions League finale, with Ancelotti and co. having required a penalty shootout to ultimately put the English champions to the sword.

Rodrygo, though, feels as though the ‘better’ side went out, having explained:

“Manchester City? To be honest, we knew they were better. For me it’s the best team in the world, the one that plays the best football.”

He went on to add:

“But we have something special. I can’t explain it.”
