Patrice Evra went on CBS Sports and forced host Kate Abdo to apologise to the American audience after he explained his spat with a member of the Manchester City staff.

City brushed Madrid aside in quite some style on Wednesday night, winning 4-0 at the Etihad to ease through to the Champions League final 5-1 on aggregate.

Pep Guardiola’s side will take on Inter Milan in Istanbul as they look to secure an historic treble – not that it’ll be worth anything – but eyes were drawn to former Manchester United full-back Evra at the end of the game, who was involved in a standoff with Manuel Estiarte, a member of the City backroom team.

The argument went on for over a minute before being settled by a handshake, and having finished his own punditry duties with French TV, Evra gatecrashed the CBS Sports coverage alongside Thierry Henry, Jamie Carraghe and Micah Richards.

Asked by Carragher what the argument was about, Evra explained: “He was looking at me, he was like [pointing aggressively] ‘this is for you, this is for you’.

“So I came close and said ‘why you shouting, why you so agitated?’ He said because last year I said last year they sh*t themselves, that’s why they lost to Madrid.”

Stunned by his choice of word [which was dubbed out by CBS], Henry ducked for cover behind Abdo, but Evra continued: “I said this year they didn’t **** themselves.”

As Richards tried to interject, Evra snapped: “Because that’s the truth Micah, I’m an honest man, I’m straight.”

Abdo then cut in, telling Evra: “The audition isn’t going so well because we don’t cuss on this show. Apologies America.”

Evra though, unpeterbed, insisted: “Pooing is not cursing! You shouldn’t invite me.”

Abdo then had a go at Evra for his shirt being untucked before the former France international bizarrely called Richards a “Christmas tree” as he told the ex-Man City man to calm down.
