They scoffed at Ange, but we should be wary of new Ibrox boss

The Rangers supporters don’t seem to have taken to their new incoming Manager Russel Martin.

The former Ibrox and Scotland player is close to being unveiled as the Rangers manager and it’s went down like a lead balloon with the Ibrox supporters.
The 39 year old former Southampton boss wasn’t exactly the top class appointment they were anticipating and they have been quite disrespectful towards a man who is yet to enter the building.
This as you can imagine is music to the ears of the Celtic supporters who have not been shy in poking fun at their rivals, but I’d urge them to show some caution as history shows us not to write anyone off no matter the circumstances.

Our own former boss Ange Postecoglou was famously written off by the SMSM and the Rangers supporters and was roundly ridiculed after news of his appointment as manager of Celtic after Eddie Howe eventually said thanks but no thanks.
Ange shoved that criticism back down their throats and then some as he won five out of six trophies during his two year spell at the club as his brand of football wowed the watching world and earned him a move to the Premier League where he recently won the Europa League with Tottenham ~ who mostly never win trophies.
Ange of course was a winner before he arrived at Celtic and had experience of managing his national side, and Martin is a mere novice in comparison, but that doesn’t mean we can afford to take him lightly.
We will give him the respect he deserves but at the same time hope he’s yet another Ibrox Manager that’s promptly seen off by Brendan Rodgers.
