Hansi Flick made several changes to his starting line-up as FC Barcelona hosted RCD Mallorca at the Montjuic for their last La Liga game.

While he was not the most surprising name among the starting eleven, the presence of Gavi in this list was one of the changes Flick made for this game.

The midfielder put in an impressive shift in this game, covering a lot of ground and always being there for his teammates as a passing option.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard also talked to the media after the game, and expressed his happiness for his teammates, particularly those who are not regular starters and got an opportunity to shine in this match:

“Happy because there have been players who have rotated a lot and played after such a long time. I’m happy for them. I think we played a great game, but we could have solved it earlier. I’m really happy for them, because to me, they are like brothers. Honestly, I’m very happy for them. They played a great game and I’m happy for them.”

The Barcelona midfielder had some clear words of praise for one of his colleagues, Pedri:

“For me, if he’s not the best in his position, he’s one of the best. It’s a luxury to play with him, and I’m really happy about how well he’s doing.”

Lastly, Gavi also commented on the upcoming Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid on Saturday:

“On Saturday, we have a great match, and we are going to go out to win, just like we did in the Super Cup.”

It is not yet clear whether Flick will start Gavi in the upcoming Copa final against the Merengues. However, whether he comes off the bench or starts the game, he is sure to give his all in that match and will hopefully help his side keep control of the midfield against Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
