Journalist Ben Jacobs has provided an update on Liverpool's plans for the remainder of the 2022 summer transfer window.

The Reds have signed Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay in the past few months.

However, Liverpool might not be finished acquiring players this summer, according to Jacobs.

“That’s the key question isn’t it. They never say never at Liverpool, but they’re very content with their window so far. I think we may see a swoop based on injuries, but they don’t buy players for the sake of it,” he told The Done Deal Show, as quoted by HITC.

“I know the Liverpool football department very well, one or two that I have interacted with, the two I speak to are at quite a senior level at Liverpool, and when you know somebody at that level you try not to bug them every two minutes.

“The people I know at Liverpool tell me the same thing every single year. Their aim at this stage of the window is to turn on Sky Sports News and laugh at all of the news from all of the other clubs, a lot of which they knew far in advance. Liverpool are very clued up and I don’t think they’re forced by injuries. If the right opportunity comes, we will wait and see.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We would love to see Liverpool sign another player or two this summer transfer window. The reality is, there is nothing more exciting than seeing a new face represent your football club.

But, we don't want the Reds to just sign anyone. If the right player pops up in the market, then hopefully Reds boss Jurgen Klopp acts.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool do acquire another footballer or two this summer. Only time will tell if that is to be the case.

For the time being, we are simply going to sit back and enjoy watching the Reds take to the field again. It's brilliant to have the Premier League back.
