Kick-off between Manchester United and Liverpool is just hours away and as the build-up to the biggest rivalry in English football is ramped up, the customary back-and-forth between Sky Sports pundits has begun.

Gary Neville has been heavily critical of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season but has backed his former team to perform in the game against Liverpool, arguing the current crop of United players are big-game players.

Furthermore, Neville shares the sentiment that Solskjaer has a knack of pulling out a result when he’s under pressure, as the 3-2 win against Atalanta earlier this week showcased.

“I am confident,” he said ahead of the game. “I think Manchester United have a manager who, when he needs a result, he gets one.

“They’ve got a group of players who have the ability to step up in big games, I think they are big-game players and I think there’ll be a crowd out there that will make this Jurgen Klopp team quite uncomfortable.”

Stretty News Verdict

Victory over Liverpool would ease the pressure on Solskjaer, who is under increasing pressure at United following a poor run of form in the Premier League. Fail to win and they would, however, be winless in their last four league games.
