We’re into the final weeks of the window and all the debate is about what Chelsea should do to end a successful summer.
On the London is Blue podcast they discussed the question of goalkeepers, specifically Robert Sanchez and if he was good enough to help us this year, or whether this was the moment to upgrade.

“I don’t think that anyone ever felt that he is a bad goalkeeper. I think there are traits where he excels – high claims, fantastic. I don’t think you can find a goalkeeper that’s better than him in that aspect,” their pundit Jessica Frota said.
“He’s a really good shot stopper. The main issues – I think actually there are two two: one is his distribution, the other is the lack of focus. He will save ten unbelievable shots and then make a stupid mistake. That’s something that you can work on.
“I think that if you have the option to upgrade and get a top notch, world class goalkeeper that you are incredibly confident in, then you get them. The problem is that you look at the market and there aren’t options.”

Most of that makes sense, although we’re not sure about there being no options. Mike Maignan and Gianluigi Donnarumma are on the market this summer, and PSG just bought Lucas Chevalier. Sure some of these guys might not make sense as signings in terms of fees or wages, but that’s a different question.
If you just wanted to improve the team and weren’t worried about resale value, there are certainly players out there you could buy to replace Sanchez with who would do the trick.
