Theo Hernández set to join Real Sociedad on loan

Real Madrid outcast Theo Hernández is reportedly set to join Real Sociedad on a season-long loan.

Hernández – brother of Atlético defender Lucas – joined Los Blancos last summer for a fee of €26m, but has since failed to hit the heights expected of him.

According to MARCA, Real Madrid are refusing to give up on the 20-year-old and are willing to let him experience regular football elsewhere.

Real Sociedad like to play offensive football which suits Hernández, after he initially shone rampaging forward for Alavés.

Julen Lopetegui will pay close attention to his performances in order to see if he can become a first team player in the future.

Hernández currently earns €5m per season, and the Madrid sports daily claims that the club are willing to pay half of his salary.
