Al Hilal have added some serious talent to their squad with the signing of France full-back Theo Hernandez from AC Milan.
The French international, 27, was confirmed as the Riyadh club’s latest recruit on Thursday, penning a three-year contract through until the end of the 2027-28 Roshn Saudi League season.
Hernandez brings to Al Hilal a wealth of experience and success at the elite end of European football. During his six years at AC Milan, he won the 2021-22 Serie A title and then, earlier this year, the Italian Super Cup.
A dynamic left-back, Hernandez departs the Italian heavyweights after 262 appearances in which he registered 34 goals and 45 assists.
Previous to that, he spent two years at Real Madrid and was part of the squad that captured the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League and the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup.
Having debuted for France in 2021, the defender helped his country lift the UEFA Nations League that same year, while he was a runner-up at the FIFA World Cup a year later. The most recent of his 38 caps came in last month’s UEFA Nations League.
New Al Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi knows Hernandez well following the fierce capital derbies during the former’s tenure at Inter Milan.
